5 Years, 5 Accomplishments, 5 New Goals
In 2015, my husband and I moved to an apartment in Evanston, and I launched my private practice. I had no local connections and, honestly, no idea how to start or operate a business.
What I did have was a vision--a vision for supporting kids and families affected by communication disorders. I would connect with children on their level. I would use my knowledge and enthusiasm in a way that genuinely improved their lives.
That vision propelled me year after year, and this summer we celebrate Synapse Pediatric Therapy’s 5 Year Anniversary! See what we’ve accomplished and where we’re headed.
5 Accomplishments
Over the last 5 years, we have:
Helped hundreds of children conquer their speech and language goals.
Grown from a one woman show to a team of three SLPs and our administrative guru, Emily.
Added additional offerings: feeding therapy, reading support, and Augmentative & Alternative Communication services.
Truly became a part of the Evanston community.
Navigated a global pandemic, became virtual therapy wizards, and began serving families all over Illinois.
5 New Goals
In the next 5 years, we are excited to:
Open an office location in Evanston (stay tuned!)
Incorporate new services (looking at YOU, Occupational Therapy)
Continue building a strong, collaborative team that values relationships and evidence-based practice.
Partner with researchers at Northwestern University to bridge the gap between academia and clinical practice.
Launch a scholarship program that improves access to speech therapy.
