Speech Therapy at Your Home or Child’s School

Synapse Pediatric Therapy is a private speech therapy practice that provides individualized speech and language services to toddlers, preschoolers and school-aged children. Traveling to your home or your child’s school, our team of compassionate, committed Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) serve the North Shore and Chicago area.

Empowering Children and Families

Katie Vienot, Clinical Director was introduced to the profession of speech pathology when her cousin, Will, was born with Down Syndrome. His speech language pathologist provided home visits and became like family to Will and his parents. Will is now a young adult. He chats on the phone with friends and family, knows more jokes than Katie, has starred in several theater productions, and is a continual source of inspiration.

Seeing Will’s profound transformation inspired Katie to earn her Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology so she could empower children and families with life-changing services.

Providing High-Quality Care

In working with children with communication disorders, Katie saw a need for smaller caseloads and higher quality of care from their therapists. In 2016, Katie founded Synapse Pediatric Therapy with the intention of creating the kind of practice that she would choose for her own child.

Here some of the ways that we are able to provide high quality care:

  • One-on-one attention in the child’s natural environment
  • Compassionate, committed therapists
  • Home practice resources for parents
Maintaining Affordability

We believe cost shouldn’t stand in the way of child receiving the life-changing support that they deserve. Here are some ways that we maintain affordability for our clients:

  • Accept Blue Cross Blue Shield and Blue Choice insurance plans
  • Provide necessary documentation to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement (for other insurance plans)
  • Accept Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Account to cover the cost of therapy (in most cases)
  • Offer reasonable rates for private pay clients
